Home Visits For The Elderly - 25 February 2024
In our first service, school councillors, teachers and students paid home visits with gifts and caring cards to elders living alone. Students in particular have been given a precious opportunity to be exposed to the plight of the underprivileged by engaging in conversations to understand their past and present stories.

Elderly Centre Service and Team Meeting – 15 June 2024
Growing up as digital natives, our student volunteers put their knowledge to good use by hosting an innovative service at Ng Wong Yee Man Neighbourhood Elderly Centre in Kowloon City in which they taught elders how to use tablets. The service was then followed by a team meeting for evaluation and planning.

民生仁 x 幸仁 x 仁愛 - 22 & 27 November 2024
On 22 November and 27 November, Munsang Light organized two morning assemblies for junior and senior form students.
During the assemblies, we shared our vision and introduced the outreach activities we had conducted previously. Our team has been serving the elderly, particularly those who live alone. To illustrate our experiences, we presented a short drama that depicted one of our visits.
We also explained the significance of our team's Chinese name, 民生仁, which embodies the virtues of kindness and compassion. Benevolence (仁) is deeply rooted in Chinese culture; it is not just about loving those around us. As the Chinese saying goes, “老吾老,以及人之老;幼吾幼,以及人之幼。”(《孟子‧梁惠王上》). We must learn to extend our love to others and empathetically consider their needs. When we love and care for others, we are truly practicing the concept of benevolence. People who love others will often be loved in return; those who respect others will frequently receive respect in return. Ultimately, this world will be filled with love, and people will be more willing to share and care for one another. We are taking a significant step towards transforming our society into one of great harmony.
We hope that the morning assemblies will encourage more students to participate in volunteer service. We are eager to see more students join us in making a difference in the community together.

Cat Shelter Service at House of Joy and Mercy - 24 November 2024
Some animal-lovers in our team spent their Sunday morning bringing warmth and care to the furry residents at the House of Joy and Mercy cat shelter. Through this meaningful service opportunity, students experienced first-hand the dedication required to care for abandoned and rescued cats. They diligently cleaned cages, ensuring each feline friend had a hygienic living space, and helped with feeding duties. The highlight of the day came when students were rewarded with playtime with the cats, creating joyful moments of connection between our young volunteers and their grateful four-legged friends.

F.5 Service Learning x 幸仁 - 2 December 2024
Service Day is an annual event held at every F5, providing students with a unique opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the community. This year, our focus has been on serving at elderly care centers. Before the event, social workers were invited to share their insights and experiences as volunteers, enriching our understanding of community service. Various training sessions equipped us with the skills necessary to refine our proposals.
On the day of the event, our students organized a range of engaging activities, which brought joy to the elderly participants. They were willing to engage in physical exercise and social interaction. It demonstrates that helping others is indeed a profound source of happiness.
It also marked a significant milestone of Munsangnites•Munsang Light by achieving remarkable success in our mission of commitment to society. As proud to be one of the Munsangnites•Munsang Light, we are dedicated to upholding our objectives, and serving the society with our spirit of benevolence. We will eagerly anticipate future social service opportunities to make a positive impact continuously.

Joint-school Sensitivity and Empathy Training - 23 November 2024
On November 23rd, Munsang Light hosted an inspiring workshop on Braille, featuring a speaker from CEDAR Workshop, a social enterprise operated by visually impaired youths. The workshop's interactive and engaging elements allowed our members to gain valuable insights into the world of Braille. Students from MSC and IMSC were introduced to its various applications, realizing how this tactile language significantly aids the visually impaired in their daily lives.

Munsangnites x 4C Volunteer Leadership Service Seminar - 11 November 2024
Attending this seminar about volunteering was an inspiring experience that highlighted the profound impact of community service. We are taught how to be a responsible volunteer; when we step outside our comfort zones to help others, we gain a deeper understanding of their struggles and triumphs. Knowing more about what is truly happening in this society, not only can we strengthen our sense of responsibility, but also learn to observe this society from different angles while trying to take action to help the needy. After this seminar, I am inspired to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others via volunteering as 民生仁.
