Gifted Education

To echo with the School Major Concerns “Grooming Our Younger Generations into Dynamic Individuals” and “Enhancing Students’ Learning Capacity, Competence and Creativity”, Gifted Education sub-committee aims to bring out the potential in gifted or talented. Our mission is to explore and develop the potential of gifted students by organizing and coordinating various programme and activities with subject departments and external organizations.
 

A. Objectives

 
− To identify more-capable students by using various methods of identification
− To provide opportunities for gifted and talented students to further stretch, develop and realize their specific gifts and talents
− To cultivate self-confidence, positive attitude and sense of responsibility of gifted and talented students
− To coordinate gifted education programmes with subject department, committee of Munsang College and external organizations
 

B. Implementation of Gifted Education in Munsang

 
Munsang has adopted the three-tier operation mode suggested by the Education Bureau in planning and implementing gifted education programme.
 
Level 3
Special enhancement programmes organized by external institutions and organizations
Level 2
School-based pull-out programmes in disciplinary or interdisciplinary areas for the more able students beyond the classroom
Level 1
Subject-based classroom learning strategies for enhancing students’ potentials in higher order thinking, creativity and personal-competence in the regular classroom
